Meet the founder
I love creating opportunities for women to come together to create, laugh, learn, and inspire each other.
My superpower is putting people at ease so they feel welcome and at home. Inviting people into my home, creating a nourishing meal, laughing and sharing experiences has always made me happy.
It’s my happy place.
Designing events that bring women together to support and inspire each other – events that change lives – is my passion.
That’s why I’ve created Our Happy Place.

You don’t have to do it all alone!
How it all started
That’s me in my high school “Pom Pom Squad” outfit. As you can see, I’ve always loved cheering others on!
Now, it’s my life’s work!
Newly married, I left St. Louis, Missouri in 1997 for a two-year secondment at KPMG with my husband. Living abroad really wasn’t on my bucket list, but we fell in love with Switzerland—that was over 25 years ago!
Still, it took me a few years to find my way. When I left my job to raise our kids, I had to search for new ways to make friends as an adult in a foreign country.
So, I began hosting creative events and workshops in my home…and later at my first business, the Creative Café.
In 2018, I founded Our Happy Place, a workshop and event space for women to gather, try new things, share their passions and build nourishing friendships.
I discovered bringing everyone together to celebrate, enjoy good food, and support local artists came completely natural to me.
I’ve hosted over 250 events and seen how making new friends and belonging to a community can be life changing.
During the pandemic, I saw the need for connection was more important than ever. So I launched my Happy Hub community to bring women together online as well as in-person in 2022.
In 2023, I joined forces with the Wonderland café and moved to Zurich’s Greencity in Manegg. I can now share my passion for supporting women with that of creating and providing healthy, locally sourced food and drinks!
I do this because putting a smile on a friend’s face puts me in my happy place and lights up everyone’s day!
Now, I can’t imagine life without it!

Women are their strongest when in community with other women.
That’s why my goal for Our Happy Place is to create a space where we help each other be the best version of ourselves, create a life we love, and grow together.
Our Happy Place also supports the surrounding community by partnering with local, women-owned businesses and creatives for our events and workshops!
